Femicides in Quarantine

There is a secret virus going around, that has been going on longer than the coronavirus. It is the amount of murdered women by hands of their boyfriends or husbands, or other members of their close family. This terrible situation has seen a huge increment during lockdown due to the coronavirus. As people spend more time at home with abusive and violent couples, calls to emergency centers because of domestic abuse have incremented in every country worldwide. In Argentina for example more than twenty women have been murdered since the beginning of mandatory quarantine in March. Because of this, people are pushing for an emergency project for gender violence. It is also relevant to highlight that the media in these countries has done a good job of talking about this problem.
